Founded in the year 1975 by local businessman Gérard Ethève, Air Austral was the first commercial airline of Réunion. This French airline is headquartered at Roland Garros Airport in Sainte-Marie, Réunion, France. Its main base of flight operations is Roland Garros Airport, which operates scheduled services from Réunion to metropolitan France, Thailand, South Africa, India and a number of destinations in the Indian Ocean. The baggage allowance rule of the Air Austral airline allows the passengers carrying free checked bags of weight which will be mentioned on the ticket. The baggage allowance depends on Routs and class of transport opted by passengers. If free checked-baggage allowance is over 30 Kg, then it should be noted that the one piece of checked-baggage must not exceed 32 Kg. The three dimensions (length x width x height) must not exceed 300 cm. Similarly, carry-on baggage plus passenger's item is limited to 10 Kg, with sum of three dimensions (length, width, height) should not be more than 115 cm, along with personal item like, laptop-size bag, handbag or briefcase. The excess baggage will be charged according to the particular country's airport rules and regulations.
