Founded on 1988, the former Air China commenced its operations on 1 July 1988. The preceding Air China united with China National Aviation Company & China Southwest Airlines and it established China Aviation Group Company. On approval of Administration Commission of the State Council and State-owned Assets Supervision, Air China was legitimately launched on 30th September, 2004 in Beijing. It is China’s special national flag carrier for civil aviation and one of the most important airlines of the Republic of China. Headquartered in in Shunyi District, Beijing, the main hub and base of this airline is at Beijing Capital International Airport.
As of May, 2014, Air China has a fleet of 319 aircrafts, including Boeing and Airbus. It solely serves to 185 destinations and operates 298 passenger Routss, including 71 international, 15 regional and 212 domestic Routss. In collaboration with Star Alliance member airlines, its service extends to 1,328 destinations in 195 countries.

The weight of each piece of checked baggage shouldn’t be more than 2kgs and its maximum weight should not exceed than 45kgs. On international flights, its weight should not exceed 32kgs. Carry-on baggage in first and business class should not exceed the weight of 8kgs per passenger and for economy class; the weight should not exceed 5kgs per passenger. Free baggage allowance for adult or child passengers is: First Class- 40 kg; Business Class- 30kg and Economy Class- 20kg. For infant-fare ticket, free baggage of 10 kg is allowed.
