Bhutan’s first private airline, Bhutan Airlines is an enterprise of Tashi Air Pvt. Ltd. This airline has a fleet size of 2 aircrafts including 1 Pilatus PC-12 and Airbus A319. Bhutan Airlines Top Flight Routss
With a small fleet size of 2 aircrafts, Bhutan Airlines operates limited flight service to domestic and international destinations. Presently, it operates seven days a week flight from Bangkok to Paro via Kolkata, India and Return & two flights (Monday and Thursday) to Kathmandu and return. However, the airline is planning to operate flight Routss to Kathmandu- Nepal, New Delhi- India and Dhaka- Bangladesh in future.
The baggage allowance of Bhutan Airlines for checked baggage is 40 Kg for Business class passengers and 30 Kg for Premium Economy & Economy class (maximum combined weight of all pieces). One must note that if your journey involves multiple airline partners, the baggage rules may vary. In case of hand baggage or carry-on bags in the cabin, the dimensions should be 55cm X 40 cm X 20 cm and maximum weight of 7 Kg. In addition, the duty free items bought at the airport of departure in Bhutan will be allowed for carriage on aircrafts only if they are carried in uniquely identifiable bags with cash receipt attached to the bag. Children over the age of 12 years old are also allowed to carry same cabin baggage as adults.
Bhutan Airlines offers fine quality of facilities and services to its on-board passengers. Passengers have complete access to in-flight entertainment options including movies, magazines (Islander magazine etc.), music, games and much more. The in-flight meals are truly scrumptious and delight for the passengers. The meals have both the Bhutanese and international tastes. In addition, a wide range of duty free products for sale on the airport which can further be taken on board in flights.
Check-in counters of Bhutan Airlines open 180 minutes before the time of flight departure. Passengers travelling in groups (9 or more guests) are recommended to report to the airport at least 120 minutes prior to the flight departure. The check-in counters are closed 45 minutes before departure time for all classes. Passengers who don’t arrive or report at the airport by 45 minutes prior to departure, will be considered no show and will have their seats released for standby guests. To maintain proper schedule, the boarding gate will be closed 25 minutes prior to flight departure time.
