About Mangalore Airport: Mangalore International Airport is an international airport serving to the coastal city of Mangalore. The airport was formerly known as Bajpe Airport due to its location at Bajpre – a 30 km away suburb of Mangalore. This was the first airport of Karnataka having two runways, one of which was entirely concrete. Mangalore Airport can handle an aircraft of up to A310 size in all weathers. It is also permitted for night operations. In 2006, it started international operations. As of October 2012, the airport can accommodate 400 passengers in domestic arrival hall and 150 international passengers in international hall.
