Trekking is one of the greatest attractions of the valley as you pass through several
stunning views. Getting to Valley of Flowers, one needs to take at 17 km of trek. The
visitors to Valley of Flowers have to take a permit from Forest Department, Ghangaria.
This permit is valid for 3 days and visiting and trekking are only allowed during day time.
The Valley of Flowers is supposed to have 600 species of angiosperms and 30
pteridophytes. More than 45 medicinal plants are also used by local from this valley.
The park doesn't have high density of wildlife animals but features some rarest and
endangered animals. More than 13 species of mammals are found in this park,
including Red Fox, Musk Deer, Snow Leopard, Himalayan Tahr, Himalayan Black Bear,

Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun is the nearest airport to Valley of Flowers but you don't
have anything to reach at the valley. Road connects the airport up to Govind Ghat and
from here, you will have to take a trek of 16 km to reach the Valley of Flowers. For
Govind Ghat, you can get taxis from airport.
The nearest railway station from Valley of Flowers is in Rishikesh but roads are only
connected up to Govind Ghat and then you will have to take the trek of 16 km. From
Rishikesh, motorable roads are available to reach Govind Ghat.
Valley of Flowers is connected by roads up to Govind Ghat, which is well-connected to
many other places like Haridwar, Rishikesh, Srinagar and much more through excellent
network of roads.
