Located in MacKerricher State Park close to Fort Bragg, California, there are three Glass Beach Sites where huge amount of scrap was dumped into the ocean from 1906 to 1967. These sites are easily reachable by foot and next to a short back down the cliffs surrounding the beach.

At present, the beach witnesses arrivals of around 10,000 tourists every year. Every day on summer, around 1,000 to 1,200 tourists visit Fort Bragg's glass beaches. Despite collecting is discouraged on the Glass Beach, most of them collect some glasses. As this is a natural factor, the glass is gradually diminishing. In fact, the beach is under threat due to the visitors are taking the glasses to their homes.
